How to Purchase: Student

COVID-19 Notice

In response to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, as well as state and federal guidelines, the Software Service Center has made several adjustments for the Spring semester:

  • The Sofware Service Center will NOT be taking walk-ups until further notice. Services can still be reached either online or by email.
  • All students can now place online orders for software, regardless of location, by following the instructions below.
  • The Student Software and Departmental Software phones will be forwarded to voicemail, and students, faculty, and staff will be directed to software.vt.edu/help to submit any questions or requests for support.
    NOTE: You can request a call back by including your phone number on the ticket.

On-Campus Ordering

The Sofware Service Center will NOT be taking walk-ups until further notice.  All students can place online orders for software by following the instructions below.

Online Software Ordering

  1. Go to Virginia Tech's Software Service Center Remote Student Software Ordering catalog item.
  2. Click the Login to Request this Item button on the right side of the page and then login using your VT PID and PID password, followed by two factor authentication.
  3. Once you're logged in, click the Request this Service button on the right side of the page.
  4. Select the software that you would like to purchase, and review the licensing terms (if applicable).
  5. Complete the required information, and click Submit.
  6. Orders will be processed within 1 - 2 business days.

Return Policy

Unopened software may be returned for a full refund within 30 days of the purchase date. The exception is bundle software–no refunds!
